The Juvenile InJustice campaign will be supported by the work of 10 passionate young leaders in college or with lived experiences in the justice system. Fellows will commit one year, meeting one Saturday per month with field work between sessions, to building the campaign.
Fellows will conduct field interviews with expert leaders, including policy makers, senior law enforcement officials, activists, and professors. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in hearings, Board of Supervisors meetings, and other significant advocacy efforts. Fellows will develop compelling videos about their site visits and promote them through a social media campaign.
Fellows will be given a unique opportunity to collaborate with expert leaders in the field to raise awareness and engage in advocacy efforts against the injustices faced by young people today. Through education in storytelling, public speaking, and video production we will create the next generation of social justice advocates.
